55% Barbera and 45% Freisa. Grapes from two adjacent vineyards with a laminated fossil Sant’Agata marl soil, made looser by alluvial debris and stones. This wine combines the charisma of both varieties: the nose is sophisticated like Barbera and wild like Freisa, intricate and explicit.

Six suppliers enable them to make this a cuvée ronde. Pale lemon and lime, with soft floral notes, aiming for the rounded and eventually buttery style of Meursault. Plenty of oak at the moment helps to drive this style but ultimately it is medium-bodied rather than a weighty monster.
