This new addition to the range of wines of Château Angélus, made under the Bordeaux appellation, offers a more streamlined version of its illustrious elders -Angélus, Carillon d’Angélus and N°3 d’Angélus, with which it shares the same depth and complexity while being at the same time more approachable young.

Vines planted between 1938 and 1966 Covering an area of 1.02 hectares, this terroir located below the Mazoyères Grand Crus gives us meaty, subtle wines. With excellent cellar-ageing potential, this is a Gevrey with a strong character but a tender heart..

A vermilion brilliant dress. The nose on red berries with the raspberry of spices. The mouth is beautiful with a lot of tenderness and elegance. Finale offers a form of flexibility with a beautiful material and present tannins.

The color is full, with a nice strong tone with violet reflections. The scent is divided between black fruits and red stone fruits. Structured, this wine is a balance between the strength of the body and the expression of the fruit.

Pommard 1er Cru Clos de Verger has a deep red hue. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry or gooseberry and ripe plum. A feline and wild evolution is not uncommon over time. The maturity of this Pommard directs it towards leather, chocolate and pepper. A wine to be left to age a little to open completely: round structure, delicate and decisive structure.

Vines planted in the 1970’s. Purchase of grapes from ½ hectare since 2009, production of 7 or 8 barrels (228 l) per year. The wines are softer than the Morey Trilogie, possess fine tannins, and already reveal their fruity character and aromas in their youth. Often mistaken for Chambolle Musignys!

55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc Chateau Angelus 2012 is an intense garnet red. On the nose notes of black raspberry, blueberry and blackberry, after a few moments also hints of black pepper, fig and salted caramel emerge. Fine notes of red fruits mainly reminiscent of cherries and evolve towards delicate aromas of undergrowth, leather and sweet spices. The mouth is very vinous, silky. To be enjoyed young accompanied by chicken lasagna, mullet fillets, a raclette or a Savoyard stew.

A fruity, pleasant, unpretentious and ready to drink wine. It can also be served cool in summer.
