Château Angélus 2012 Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Crü Classè A
55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc
Chateau Angelus 2012 is an intense garnet red. On the nose notes of black raspberry, blueberry and blackberry, after a few moments also hints of black pepper, fig and salted caramel emerge. Elegant entrance on the palate, with balanced tannins and acidity. 2012 was marked by spring rains followed by a long dry period towards the end of the season. Rain was less than usual during the five winter months and temperatures were mild with the exception of the extremely cold first half of February. A rainy and mild June encouraged the spread of disease throughout the vineyard. Fortunately, in July and onwards until August, the weather became quite dry. These moderately warm climatic conditions ensured slow ripening, beneficial for the acidity levels. The grape harvest took place from 8 to 19 October.
A celebratory label to "celebrate" the promotion to Premier Grand Crü Classè A. A collector's bottle!
