This noble Pinot Noir grows in vineyards of medium-high height between 500 - 600 m s.l.m. Here the downward currents of air cool the temperature even in the height of summer. It is a blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, which ages in French barriques (two thirds new) for 20 months and for at least one year in bottle. With very fine tannins and a persistent finish, Il BLU presents itself as a wine of great structure, which fascinates for its complexity and elegance.

The grapes come from the homonymous vineyard "Cascina Francia", historic vineyard of the Conterno family. In the 2020 vintage, the Barbera Francia presents itself with typical acidity and a great elegance, a wine perhaps not very ready to drink, but which can be kept for many years in the cellar.
