The 2018 Barolo Cerretta is a very pretty wine. Sweet, perfumed aromatics and beams of nervous tannin give the 2018 its focused personality. There is good energy and vibrancy here, if not quite the mid-palate pliancy that is typical. The 2018 is shaping up to be a decidedly understated Cerretta.

"The 2020 Barbaresco Nubiola is lifted, aromatically expressive and a real delight. Cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, mint, dried flowers and crushed red berry fruit give the 2020 its high-toned personality. There's plenty of fruit and structure behind it. Give this a few years in bottle. "The 2019 Barbaresco Vanotu is laced with ripe dark cherry, plum, spice, mocha and espresso. In this vintage, the Vanotu is a bit light in structure, which seems to accentuate the oak imprint.
