In this wine, roast hazelnut precedes ripe, dark-cherry notes that seem to find their way straight to a pleasure center of the brain. The palate follows in a hedonistic flow of ripe, velvety dark cherry, perfumed with a hint of Amarena. 

Coming from the historic family vineyard in Serralunga, from which in the great vintages Monfortino is produced, this Barolo is the maximum expression of Nebbiolo in all its power, elegance and refinement. In short, an opulent wine.

The new vineyard purchased a few years ago by the Conterno family presents itself on the market with an exceptional Barolo, powerful and structured, with a very persistent tannic texture, and slightly more balsamic than the nearby vineyard France.

Vigna Colonnello is garnet ruby red in color. The nose is complex offering aromas of spices, even exotic spices, dried flowers, and forest floor. Remarkable on the palate for the excellent concentration of refined tannins, supple, able to envelop the palate without being aggressive. The finish is long and persistent.

COLOUR: ruby red with orange reflections. BOUQUET: intense spicy notes, hints of dried red fruit with clear olfactory sensations of vanilla and liquorice. FLAVOUR: intense, austere and elegant, good acid balance, balsamic notes from soft wood, long persistence and harmony.
