Tuscany
Tuscany produces many fine wines, especially reds, and the quality of its production has ensured that these are known and appreciated throughout the world. The entire region boasts many different production areas including IGT, DOCG, and more than thirty DOCs, for a total of 14 different institutional wine routes. The entire region is hilly, and has a mild climate thanks to the extensive coast overlooking the Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea. In the provinces of Florence and Siena wines are produced, some quite ancient, well known: the famous Chianti Classico, the much appreciated Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. In the territories of Livorno and Grosseto, with a milder climate thanks to the sea, Bolgheri, Montecucco and Ansonica are produced among others.
