The new vineyard purchased a few years ago by the Conterno family presents itself on the market with an exceptional Barolo, powerful and structured, with a very persistent tannic texture, and slightly more balsamic than the nearby vineyard France.

The 2018 Barolo Cerretta is a very pretty wine. Sweet, perfumed aromatics and beams of nervous tannin give the 2018 its focused personality. There is good energy and vibrancy here, if not quite the mid-palate pliancy that is typical. The 2018 is shaping up to be a decidedly understated Cerretta.

" The 2014 Gattinara Molsino is shy and introverted in its first impression, with quite a bit of intensity lurking in the background. Today, the Molsino is not as expressive as the Valferana, but its day will come. In the mouth it is velvety ample and fills up with sweet and lasting tannins. The great polyphenolic structure of Nebbiolo and the right acid tannic balance of this wine are synonyms of long lasting wine.

It is a blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, which ages in French barriques (two thirds new) for 20 months and for at least one year in bottle. With very fine tannins and a persistent finish, Il BLU presents itself as a wine of great structure, which fascinates for its complexity and elegance.

"The 2008 Comtes de Champagne Rosé is bright, steely and finely chiseled right out of the gate. It shows quite a bit or energy and also more overall tension than the Blanc today. It will be interesting to see how the 2008 ages, and if the fruit ever emerges. I suspect the 2008 will always remain a rather nervous Rosé, even if it is quite striking today. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, chalk...

"The 2018 Barbaresco Nubiola is silky, open-knit and quite expressive, all of which make it a delight to taste today. It opens beautifully to reveal hints of spice, licorice and blood orange woven into a core of dark cherry/plum fruit. Best of all, the 2018 will drink well with only minimal cellaring. COLOUR: ruby red with orange reflections. BOUQUET: intense spicy notes, hints of dried red fruit with clear olfactory sensations of vanilla and liquorice. FLAVOUR: intense, austere and elegant, good acid balance, balsamic notes from soft wood, long persistence and harmony.

The body is brilliant, golden straw yellow in colour. The bubbles are fine. The mousse is discreet and persistent. The nose is very expressive and open, offering notes of fruit and brioche, as well as aromas of peach, white flowers (hawthorn, acacia) and vanilla pod. The attack in the mouth is lively and fresh, very harmonious. Fruit and honey flavours then follow, in a delicate expression....

The body, intense and sparkling, is bright pink in colour. The bubbles are fine. The mousse is persistent. The nose is broad and expressive, fresh and young at the same time and releases aromas of red fruits (freshly crushed wild raspberries, cherries, blackcurrants). In the mouth, a fine balance of velvety and full-bodied unfolds. The flavours recall fresh, crisp red fruits. ...

It takes the name of the house being a selection of more vineyards around the company. Traditional typology that follows the Piedmontese philosophy of aging in large Slavonian oak barrels of 2500 L where it rests for two years. Wine that plays on elegance and fruit.

On the nose, it opens up after a brief aeration to reveal notes of leather and eucalyptus, together with spicy and balsamic hints. Flavour: The perception of the drink is ample but not invasive, with a well-governed structure and a calibrated and harmonious digestion of the contribution of wood. Colour: Garnet red, tending towards orange with age.
