In the oenological field, saying Bordeaux is equivalent to saying the area of ​​production of great quality red wines based on the famous Bordeaux blend, a blend composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The location and climate make this area one of the most favorable to the cultivation of vines and the production of wines, making it the most renowned and important wine region in the world, at least for what concerns red wines. The vineyard area corresponds to about 100 thousand hectares for an annual production of more than 5 million hectoliters of wine, of which more than 4 million red.
