The cuvèe is a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, using a 50% reserve wine and aged in the bottle for no less than 18 months. Golden yellow in color, the nose has hints of pear and peach that are mixed with notes of vanilla, white pepper and citrus fruits. On the palate it is initially fresh to then continue with mineral and biscuit notes.

With an intense ruby red color, the nose is attractive and complex with notes of small red fruits, sweet spices and roasted coffee. On the palate it is full-bodied, round and of splendid harmony and pleasantness. A vintage capable of improving over time.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and sometimes a small proportion of Petit Verdot, to represent the elegance, complexity and structure of the Bolgheri terroir. It is produced since 1990 from vineyards located on a soil of alluvial origin, from clay-sandy to clay-silt, with the presence of Bolgheri agglomeration (skeleton).

The grapes come from the homonymous vineyard "Cascina Francia", historic vineyard of the Conterno family. In the 2020 vintage, the Barbera Francia presents itself with typical acidity and a great elegance, a wine perhaps not very ready to drink, but which can be kept for many years in the cellar.

Coming from the historic family vineyard in Serralunga, from which in the great vintages Monfortino is produced, this Barolo is the maximum expression of Nebbiolo in all its power, elegance and refinement. In short, an opulent wine.

The new vineyard purchased a few years ago by the Conterno family presents itself on the market with an exceptional Barolo, powerful and structured, with a very persistent tannic texture, and slightly more balsamic than the nearby vineyard France.

Tignanello 2019 has a ruby red color. The nose is striking for its great complexity: notes of red fruit, strawberry and pomegranate alternate with delicate hints of apricot and peaches in syrup, accompanying elegant shades of vanilla, dried flowers, chocolate and pleasant spicy sensations of nutmeg; notes of coffee, caramel and Mediterranean aromatic herbs complete the bouquet. The 2018 Barolo Francia is powerful, deep and also a touch austere. It shows the edginess of all the 2018s, but also has a feeling of textural creaminess that adds tons of character. Spice, menthol, leather and a whole range of balsamic overtones build into the deep, imposing finish.

The 2018 Barolo Cerretta is a very pretty wine. Sweet, perfumed aromatics and beams of nervous tannin give the 2018 its focused personality. There is good energy and vibrancy here, if not quite the mid-palate pliancy that is typical. The 2018 is shaping up to be a decidedly understated Cerretta.

" The 2014 Gattinara Molsino is shy and introverted in its first impression, with quite a bit of intensity lurking in the background. Today, the Molsino is not as expressive as the Valferana, but its day will come. With a bit of aeration, the 2014 starts to show the structure, layers of nuance and resonance that will emerge more fully in time." Antonio Galloni
