Cambridge Distillery was born from an inspiration of William Lowe, a teacher of the Wine and Spirits Education Trust and his wife Lucy who previously worked at Cambridge Business School. The distillery is located in the English countryside, a few meters from the River Cam, which winds its way to the university town of Cambridge, just a few miles away, passing first through Grantchester Meadows. In addition to providing a splendid setting for William and Lucy for their work, the context of the English countryside with its meadows and rolling hills acts as a botanical cabinet for the creations that arise within the Cambridge Distillery. The basis of their work is the awareness that the production of Gin has remained almost completely unchanged since the mid-eighteenth century, which is why they have set themselves the goal of achieving an "Exceptional" standard of production and processing of botanicals! The landscape surrounding the distillery inspired William and Lucy to create gins that capture the taste of the English seasons using botanicals grown both inside and around their home, using only the freshest raw materials! Numerous awards have come from this work made of passion and perseverance: every gin they create and released on the market has conquered the palates of critics by receiving international awards and the distillery has been awarded three consecutive times as the most innovative distillery in the world! The "Gin Tailoring" project deserves special mention: like entering a tailor's shop, at the Cambridge Distillery it is possible to make an appointment with the Master Distiller to make a real flight of blind tastings to determine preferences and sensitivities to palate of the various botanicals available, and then, with the skill of a craftsman, create your own and personal Gin recipe. In fact, personalized recipes are produced for individuals, companies, institutions and some of the best restaurants in the world!
