"1978" Cabernet Franc Rubicone IGT 2019 - San Patrignano
1978 as the year the San Patrignano community was founded. Inspiration, courage and audacity guided the founders just as today, the same audacity has guided them to produce a pure cabernet franc
Varietal: cabernet franc
Picking: first half of October Yield: 60 q/ha
Alcoholic fermentation: selected grapes from a single plot. Fermentation in steel with long maceration on the skins. Malolactic fermentation partially in wood before final ageing
Maturation: 12/15 months in French oak barriques
Organoleptic characteristics: Intense ruby red colour with very dense texture. The nose expresses the typical varietal aromas of cabernet franc, with distinct hints of green pepper and a hint of sage, as well as red fruits such as ripe cherry and blackberry. Characterised by a tight, severe tannin, contrasted with a finish of autumn leaves, dried flowers and liquorice. The elegant balsamic closure is supported by a pleasant freshness that will give the wine longevity
