Barolo Meriame Bio 2018 - Brandini
Barolo Meriame is Serralunga d'Alba, it is power, it is structure. The expression of a terrain that is historically perfect for the cultivation of Nebbiolo. Definitely a wine that appreciates bottle ageing to soften the more austere traits of youth.
Area of origin: Vigneto Meriame, Serralunga d'Alba Grape variety: 100% Nebbiolo Vinification and ageing: Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with maceration of the skins for about 4 weeks and frequent pumping over. Maturation in large casks (10hl) for 30 months and subsequent 6-8 months in bottle. Nose: The nose opens up after brief aeration to reveal notes of leather and eucalyptus, together with spicy and balsamic hints. Taste: The perception of the drink is ample but not invasive, with a well-governed structure and a calibrated and harmonious digestion of the wood contribution. Colour: Garnet red, tending towards orange with age.
