Barolo Cascina Fontana is produced from Nebbiolo grapes grown in hilly areas located in the heart of the production area, precisely in the three vineyards owned by the family: Villero (cru Villero) and Valletti (cru Mariondino) in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto and Gallinotto (cru Giachini) in the municipality of La Morra. The grapes of each vineyard contribute with different characteristics to the preparation of Barolo Cascina Fontana: complexity, structure, elegance, acidity, fruit and minerality are some of these. Following the family tradition, the production of each vineyard is pressed, de-stemmed and vinified separately. Once fermentation is complete, the wines are blended together and aged for about two years in Slavonian oak barrels of 25/27 hectoliters each. After this period, the wine is decanted into concrete tanks for a further year of refinement and then bottled in a single bottling. The Cascina Fontana Barolo produced from the three vineyards-cru, will be ready for sale after about six months from the date of bottling.
