Calvados Pays d'Auge 4 ans - Giard

Calvados was born as "eau de cidre" and is obtained from the fermentation of apples in the lower Normandy area. There are about one hundred varieties of apples grown, but only four are used for the production of calvados. They are carefully selected by the Giard family, owner of beautiful low-yielding orchards located in the heart of the Auge region. The apples, harvested by hand in autumn and left outdoors to complete their maturation, are ground and pressed to obtain a juice, destined for long fermentation in discontinuous copper stills.
