The purest merlot. Intense ruby red color with soft violet reflections. Intense aroma of berries and violets with spicy notes. On the palate it is vinous, persistent, with berries that blend with ripe marasca cherry and sweet tannins that give body to the wine. In addition to the usual attention in vinification, it rests for 12 months in new French oak wood.
It has shades of stupendous ruby, intense but bright, consistent with evident arches that gradually form on the walls of the glass. The nose is immediately intense, complex and fine; has clear notes of blackberry, black cherry and violet; then the opening towards a spicy character: in progression sweet tobacco, cocoa, vanilla, sandalwood, licorice. Attack in the mouth of extraordinary balance: it is immediately warm and enveloping on well-smoothed and round, “almost sweet” tannins; it has a savory finish in support of a persistent note of blackberry and cassis, on sweet spices. Suitable for accompanying roast kid, stewed rabbit, veal shank and semi-mature cow's cheese.
