Corton-Charlemagne Grand Crü "Cuvée du Kalimeris" 2018 - Laurent Ponsot
The wines are chiselled, precise, rich in the scent of flowers and minerals. They are to be matched with fish, shellfish or a cheese platter to enhance themselves perfectly.
The Emperor Charlemagne donated this vine in 775 to a Catholic institution in Saulieu which kept it for 1000 years! Perched on its hill, it is the only grand cru that the sun illuminates from morning to evening. From Ladoix-Serrigny in the East, passing through Aloxe-Corton in the South, to reach Pernand-Vergelesses in the West, the Corton Charlemagne extends over 52 hectares. The Laurent Ponsot company sources its supplies in these three villages, from six different producers, and can thus produce a wine representative of the appellation, which draws its richness from its diversity.
