Vertical Riesling Old Vintages - C.H.Berres

For more than 500 years now, the Berres family have tended their vineyards on the Mosel. Today Markus Berres, 37 years old, is the 21st generation to manage this traditional family Estate. A Graduate in Viticulture and Enology from the renowned Geisenheim University in the Rheingau, Markus took over responsibility for wine making at the Estate in 2003. The family vineyards are amongst the best in the region, located on the slopes of the Ürziger Würzgarten, Ürziger Goldwingert and Erdener Treppchen These sites are three of the most outstanding Grand Cru sites in the whole of the Moselle Valley. Old, mostly ungrafted vines grow in these vineyards and the wines reflect the complex, unspoilt terroir.
