The slow maturation in steel tanks gives this red vermouth a striking garnet colour with elegant amber hues. A classic vinous imprint is gracefully supported by hints of vanilla and citrus fruits. On the palate, its soft elegance anticipates a long persistence, rich in subtle and bitter spicy notes.

The Bèrto line was born out of the encounter between Federico Ricatto, a well-known chef and alchemist from the Langhe area of Piedmont, and Carlo Quaglia, a historical liquorist from Castelnuovo Don Bosco. Berto's first products were the Vermouths (Rosso da Lavoro and Bianco, Aperitivo della Tradizione), inspired by the centuries-old Piedmontese tradition of this aromatised and fortified wine. Production was later expanded by rediscovering the recipes for Bitter and Aperitif, typical Italian-style aperitif liqueurs. It was then the turn of the Gin: Berto Dry Gin, classic and dry with a slight Mediterranean touch given by the use of laurel and rosemary; Berto Old Tom Gin, on the other hand, is a free reinterpretation of the classic British style of gin with a little residual sugar, in the fashion of the 1800s. In this case, Federico Ricatto's imagination led to the use of less sugar and the infusion of vanilla to give an unusual colour and soft, round notes. The latest creations are the two 'Vermouth Superiori' which, in accordance with the specifications of the Vermouth di Torino Consortium, use only Piedmontese wines in the recipe; specially designed to satisfy the most refined palates. For the production of all products in the Bèrto range, only artisanal production methods are used, with long and patient infusions of the aromatic herbs. Thanks to its exceptional price/quality ratio, today Bèrto is among the most popular brands in Italian cocktail bars.
