Henri Boillot
Meursault - France
For more than four generations the Jean Boillot domaine has been in Volnay and with the arrival of Henri Boillot, grandfather of the current Henri, it had a strong impetus for development, up to a vineyard area of 15 hectares of which 65% in red and the rest in white. Henri Boillot, current conductor of the domaine, an eclectic man, after giving his name to the domaine (previously it was called D.ne Jean Boillot) began to vinify trying to obtain very elegant and fine wines and therefore, at times, the maximum expression occurs only after a few years. The minerality that distinguishes the wines of the domaine is however marked and with the refinement it fully enhances the terroir. There are many white wines from Boillot among which the Puligny Clos de la Mouchere and the Corton Charlemagne, a true cult wine of the Domaine, stand out among the major protagonists of the panorama of today's Burgundy. Since 2012 Gauillarme Boillot, son of Henri, has started the vinification of Pinot Noir which, in addition to confirming itself with the superlatives Volnay, offers an impressive battery of red wines, from Pommard to Bonnes Mares, passing through Clos Vougeot and other great wines of the Côte de Nuits.
