BERSANO
NIZZA MONFERRATO | PIEDMONT
Founded in 1907 as a family winery by Giuseppe Bersano. In 1912 the first acquisition: Cantina Cremonina, 12 hectares in the heart of the Barbera d'Asti district. In 1935, Arturo Bersano arrived at the helm of the business. A law graduate to please the family, he was an intellectual with great intuition and soon became a pioneer in the wine-growing sector, turning the company into one of the most important in the Province of Asti first and then in Piedmont with a series of acquisitions of vines. In the 1950s he also had the intuition to 'dress' the bottle with labels and packaging of great value. The artist who enabled him to achieve all this was the painter and graphic designer from Alessandria, Franco Sassi. Since 2013, the property, over 230 hectares of vineyards, has belonged to the Massimelli and Soave families. At the helm are the second generation, Federica Massimelli and Corrado Soave.
