"El Ron Prohibido" has its roots in the 18th century, when the Spanish ships that arrived in America loaded with wine reserves, instead of returning to Spain with empty barrels, began to fill the barrels with the "Chinguirito", Mexican rum. The demand for "Chinguirito", enriched by the sweet notes released by the wood of the barrels, became so high that the King of Spain Philip V of Bourbon was forced to ban its production, in order to protect the internal trade of Spanish spirits and to limit the disastrous effects caused to society by excessive drinking. This was the reason why the Mexican "Chinguirito" was banned from 1700 to 1796. "El ron Prohibido" is no longer prohibited and today identifies an original Rum, which comes back to light in its original recipe, for the lucky lovers of real rum. Mexican. Aged for twelve years following the Solera dynamic aging method, El Ron Prohibido is harmoniously played on the sweet / bitter contrast. In fact, a small quantity of passito wine is added.
