Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 228 Burgundy Cask Finish - Tullibardine
Of all Tullibardine's expressions, 228 Burgundy best represents the connection between the Picard family, winemakers in Burgundy, and the distillery. After an initial aging in ex-bourbon barrels, the whisky is further aged in 228-liter barrels that have previously contained Pinot Noir from Au Pied du Mont Chauve in Chassagne-Montrachet. The nose releases aromas of cherry and red fruits accompanied by notes of chocolate, vanilla and spices. The palate is soft, warm and enveloping.
Located in Blackford, at the entrance to Highland, Tullibardine Distillery is one of the very few independent Single Malt Scotch Whisky producers. In fact, the distillery was purchased in 2011 by the Picard family, who wanted to preserve Tullibardine's craft tradition. Today Tullibardine Distillery is one of the very few in Scotland to distill, mature and bottle its single malts on site, giving the team complete control over all production processes.
