The wine is garnet red in color. The nose has hints of cherry, plum, raspberry and violet, all distinctive and identifying aromas of Nebbiolo. The mouth is instead characterized by an average astringency of tannins and an appreciable freshness, well balanced by alcohol and softness.
The red Roero is produced with Nebbiolo grapes and to be disciplined is subjected to a refinement in wood. The name Le Coste is an Additional Geography Mention of the Roero denomination. The best dishes to pair with Roero are particularly elaborate meat and game dishes. Truffle-based dishes are also excellent. The Roero also enhances the flavors of aged cheeses.
