Barbera d'Alba 2021 - Mauro Veglio
For this wine, the grapes from the cooler exposures and from the younger vineyards of the Cascina Nuova hill, home of the company, are used. Here we grow juicier grapes that give a velvety and light Barbera d’Alba to be enjoyed young and fresh.
Grape variety: 100% Barbera Planting year: early 2000s Type of farming: guyot Vinification: maceration with the skins in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 6-8 days, then it is drawn off and the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel ends (about 20 days) where, maintaining the controlled temperature, the malolactic fermentation also takes place. The refinement continues in stainless steel for a few months, until the following summer, when it is bottled without filtration or clarification. Color: intense ruby red with purple notes. Bouquet: fruity, fresh, with young and captivating notes of red fruits with a prevalence of black cherry and plum. Taste: Balanced flavor with light acidic notes typical of the grape and well expressed minerality with a delicate savory finish. Serving temperature: 16 ° -18 °. It is pleasant to appreciate the initial freshness and experience the evolution of aromas as the wine warms up in the glass. Evolution: ideal drinkability in the very first years of the bottle, but can give exciting surprises even after a few years.
