Pinot Bianco "Rarity" 2010 - Terlano

What most fascinates about these wines is the freshness of their youth, an element that makes this Pinot Bianco extremely compelling, despite its venerable age. It is a wine that lends itself perfectly to aging for a long time in the bottle. Terlano has a terroir very congenial to great white wines, and these rare they are the most tangible proof of this. Due to a dry and cold winter and a similar spring, the start of vegetation on the hills of Terlano has been significantly delayed compared to recent years. A relatively mild April was followed by a moderately warmer and rainier May. The month of June was positive, while July was extremely dry and with record heat. These particular climatic conditions can be attributed to the fact that the grapes of the different qualities are formed with small berries. Furthermore, in July there was a good maturation of the wood to indicate a promising vintage.

The climatic conditions during the ripening period were not the best; in relation to a rather scarce harvest, however, the maturation proceeded rapidly and very healthy and perfectly ripe grapes were harvested. Overall, the 2010 harvest was one of the scarcest in the last 20 years, but the quality of the wines can be seen and appreciated.
