From the Saumur area, in the Loire region, a truly surprising classic method. Born from the assembly of the main varieties of the region (5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Chardonnay, 75% Chenin Blanc, 5% Grolleau), and aged for 18 months on the lees, this wine amazes for its elegance and importance.
The Château de Montguéret is a large 100-hectare estate located in the Loire River valley. It covers the Anjou, Saumur and Coteaux du Layon appellations. Built in 1880, the Castle is in Napoleon III style. It elegantly combines the three materials of the region: Saumur tuffeau, Angevin schist and Sévrienne bricks on a hill overlooking the Layon. The Château and its old wine warehouses, flanked by two bell towers at either end, have a surprising charm and offer a beautiful view of the Layon. Since 2005 the Chateau has been part of the properties of the Helfrich family who immediately made important investments. The old vines have been preserved but the owners have transplanted us a heart… modern.
