Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC "Vielles Vigne" 2015 - Domaine St. Patrice
Ruby red color. The nose is intriguing with aromas of ripe strawberries, cherries, plums and blackberries. On the palate it is full-bodied and adds a pleasant spicy note to the aromas perceived in the nose. Medium acidity, with soft tannins and a long finish.
It owes its name to the British Ambassador Jean De Power. In 1838 Clos Saint Patrice was known as "one of the best vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape" (1838 Vaucluse directory). Several written texts attest to the reputation of Clos which was defined in the 1920s as "the oldest wine of Châteauneuf-du -Pape. ”It was bought in 2009 by the Julian family, the last generation of a modest family of local Vignerons, and in 2015 Samuel Montgermont joined them and Domaine Saint Patrice was born.
