Morey Saint-Denis 1er Crü Monts Luisants 2017 - Domaine Dujac
The finesse is the signature of all the wines of the Domaine Dujac. This fantastic Chardonnay from the municipality of Morey Saint-Denis is no exception. Clay and silt soils, classic refinement for at least 15 months in barrique and great elegance and finesse in the mouth. A chardonnay that does not surprise so much for its power, but for its great pleasure.
The lieu-dit Les Monts Luisants lies northeast of the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, at the top of the slope, where it is very steep (24%). This east-facing lieu-dit varies greatly in altitude, from 311 to 343 meters. The soil on this hillside is 60 to 80 cm thick, rich in angular limestone gravel in a sandy-silty matrix. The soil is rich in carbonate, and very sensitive to erosion. The Quaternary substratum of Les Monts Luisants is composed of limestone scree, bedded deposits known as grèzes litées. These angular Comblanchien limestone gravel deposits cover the slope in layers that are sometimes more than ten meters thick.
