Château L'Evangile 2014 is made up of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. Violet ink, the appearance of this wine gives way to a nose with a wide and intense aromatic variety of black fruits on a base of balsamic notes that ensure a hint of freshness. With a sincere attack, in the mouth the wine develops with the freshness of the aromas and with the creaminess of robust tannins.

Chateau l'Evangile is one of the most important producers of Pomerol, both for size (22 hectares) and for the quality and importance of its wines. The Chateau and its vineyards are located in the eastern part of Pomerol, on the border with Saint-Emilion, and bordered by La Conseillante and Cheval Blanc. The Evangile terroir has characteristics very similar to that of Cheval Blanc with a gravelly surface layer covering the clayey one below. The small sandy plots of land present are destined for the production of the second wine, "Le Blasson de l'Evangile". The classic blend of the wine is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, although in the future an ever-increasing percentage of the latter is to be expected. The property was bought by the Rothschild family (of Lafite) entirely in 1998, but they had already joined as partners in 1990. With the arrival of the Rothschild family, first with Baron Eric and now under the guidance of their daughter Saskia de Rothschild, the chateau has invested heavily in improving the quality of its vineyards, replanting where necessary, digging new drains and drastically reducing yields per hectare. The cellar was renovated in 2004 to ensure better precision, with separate fermentations parcel by parcel. The use of herbicides was discontinued in 2001 and an organic (non-certified) viticulture approach has been used since 2007.
