Mario Incisa della Rocchetta was the first to produce a Bordeaux wine on Italian soil, recognizing in the Bolgheri area a similarity with the Graves of Bordeaux. 1968 was the first Sassicaia harvest to be marketed and it was an immediate success. Sassicaia is aged in French oak barriques for 24 months and aged in bottle for a further 6 months. With an intense and deep ruby color, it has an unmistakable personality, positively amazes for its finesse, elegance and complexity.
Le Difese, a Tuscan IGT wine, has been produced by Tenuta San Guido since 2003. The blend is 70% Cabernet and 30% Sangiovese, the wine is characterized by the good structure and its extreme softness that make it extremely pleasant and drinkable.

Excellent roundness, gentleness and sweetness, with an organoleptic thickness without any edges. Excellent structure with great balance and persistence.

A myth of Italian enology, Sassicaia, the first true Tuscan Bordolese cut, owes its origins to the foresight and passion of Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, who in the 20s began experimenting to reach a "Supertuscan" of race. Produced since 1948, but marketed only by the 1967 vintage.
