The domaine is spread over about 20 hectares which are located in a valley that separates the calcareous soils on one side and the Silex soils on the other and therefore the wines are vinified separately according to the origin of the grapes and this gives each wine a own personality. The pride of Laporte is the Domaine du Rochoy, which with its 10 hectares all of Silex, in an area already known since Roman times, in the village of Bannay. This company, although created in 1850, has been able, through the fine work of the Bourgeois family, to work on wines from Terroir where the difference in the soil is very marked. Fine and elegant wines, worthy ambassadors of the Loire but above all perfect ones of Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé.

Le Rochoy is a unique hill in Sancerrois. It was once a Gallo-Roman quarry called "Rochetum". Flints scattered on the ground accumulate heat during the day and release it at night. The subsoil, composed of flint, gives this cuvée all its minerality. The ripening of the grapes is rapid and gives an exceptional white Sancerre.
