The La Meirana estate was established at the dawn of Gavi's history. In fact, the name Meirana is mentioned in a lease contract, dated 972 A.D., according to a document preserved at the Genoa State Archives. The Meirana is still located in the heart of this territory today and represents the oldest link to it. Coincidentally, a thousand years later, in 1972, Bruno Broglia bought the estate. Later, in the early 1980s, the cellar was expanded and renovated. In those years it was decided to use only stainless steel tanks, so as to enhance the best characteristics of Gavi: freshness, flavour and minerality. It was an avant-garde choice at a time when only cement vats and wooden barrels were used. Even today their far-sightedness is rewarded: Broglia is recognised as a reference company in the area and synonymous with high quality. Today the company is run by the third generation: Roberto and Filippo, Piero's sons, and Bruno, Paolo's son; all born and raised in Gavi, breathing the atmosphere of this land of wine since childhood.

On organoleptic analysis, La Meirana expresses the exceptional characteristics of the Gavi...

The average vineyard yield in the different harvests is 30 to 40 quintals per hectare. The grapes are harvested in wooden crates and directly transferred to the presses so that the bunches arrive there intact. These, due to their richness of structure and acidity,...
