Masseria Li Veli was born as a cellar in the early twentieth century, on the ruins of a building from the late medieval age of which only a few traces remain incorporated today in the current structure. In 1999 the Falvo family, with over 40 years of experience in the wine sector, first as the founder of Avignonesi in Montepulciano and then always in the Sienese of Classica, the first modern national distributor of "fine wines", bought and re-founded Masseria Li Veli. The idea was born to give life to a high quality project in Puglia, a region with very ancient winemaking traditions, unfortunately known only for the production of large quantities of grapes per hectare and not for the excellence of its wines. The masseria rises on an ancient messapic site dominating the fertile and sunny plain of Salento. Its ancient founder, the Marquis Antonio de Viti de Marco (1858-1943), an internationally renowned economist from Lecce, made Li Veli a winery modeled throughout the South. Today the perfectly restored farmhouse is the home of Edoardo and Alfredo Falvo who in addition to meticulous care in the vineyard produce wines in perfect symbiosis with their land but above all the right ambassadors of Puglia.
