Raineri

Novello | Piedmont

In 2004 Gianmatteo (Jimmy) Raineri and Fabrizio Giraudo met at the Turin University of Wine. After confronting each other, they decide to "have fun" and try their luck by producing some wine from the Dolcetto vineyard belonging to Jimmy's father. A year later about 1000 bottles of Dolcetto di Dogliani are ready to be uncorked. At that point, there is that desire to go further and add Barbera d’Alba to their project. The results are very good and a real passion has developed which leads to the serious decision to start producing Barolo. In 2006, Jimmy's father-in-law lends a hand, providing the Nebbiolo from his vineyard in Perno di Monforte. The 2006 harvest becomes the first Barolo vintage of the Raineri team, together with the Langhe Nebbiolo. In 2011 Luciano Racca, backed by a long international experience, joins Jimmy and Fabrizio and the Raineri farm becomes a serious company, ready to deal with the global market. In 2014, finally, the long-awaited purchase of its own facility in Panerole di Novello, where Raineri dedicates a single space to winemaking and another to aging in wood. As the expert and capable producers of Langa teach us, having the right spaces available to work and knowing how to exploit them correctly can only enhance the hard work done in the vineyard and benefit the qualitative growth of the product. "Our philosophy is the same as that of the great Masters who made the history of the Langhe: total respect for the vineyard and for the wine, associated with the utmost care for aging in the cellar. To do this, we constantly "live" the vineyard, pay close attention to the French oak we use, and taste our wines day after day ... "
