Massimo Rivetti

Neive | Piedmont

The Massimo Rivetti company with its 25 hectares of vineyards, grown entirely in the organic system, presents a range of both traditional and international vines. The annual production is about 100,000 bottles, mainly divided between Barbaresco and Barbera d’Alba. The plots are grouped around three farmhouses: Froi, Garassino and Palazzina. In the first, located in the municipality of Neive, there is the winery located on the Serraboella hill, one of the most important for the production of Barbaresco. Vineyards aged 35 to 75 with limited productions per hectare to maximize quality and enhance the characteristics of the terroir and of the production area. Manual mowing to avoid any chemical herbicide. sowing of over 20 different varieties of herbs that help to help the plant by avoiding stress and also acting as natural fertilizers. Use of "sexual confusion" (natural method that involves the use of pheromones to avoid the reproduction of the insect without eliminating it chemically) and manual collection of nocturnes (worms that, in spring, feed on the buds, compromising production). Manual harvest of only the best fruits at the moment of maximum maturity followed by careful selection to avoid any compromise.
